To understand Emma Navarro’s background, you have to look at Wall Street and Southern real estate rather than the Sunset Strip.
Emma was born in New York City in 2001 and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. Her father, Ben Navarro, graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1984 before spending years in corporate finance, working stints at Citigroup and Goldman Sachs. In 1998, he launched Sherman Financial Group, a global investment firm that specializes in consumer debt portfolio acquisition.
Sherman Financial grew into a quiet juggernaut. The company later purchased Credit One Bank, expanding its footprint across the United States. Through these operations, Ben Navarro built an estimated personal net worth ranging between $3 billion and $5 billion.
He also poured immense capital directly into professional tennis. In 2018, his holding company, Beemok Sports, purchased the Credit One Charleston Open (the longest-running women-only tennis tournament in the world). Four years later, Beemok acquired the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati, a premier ATP Masters 1000 and WTA 1000 event. Emma grew up surrounded by world-class court infrastructure, training relentlessly before starring for the University of Virginia Cavaliers, where she won the NCAA Division I women's singles championship in 2021. Her athletic pedigree is closely linked to her father's investments, but those investments belong to Ben Navarro, not Jane's Addiction.
