During initial table reads in early 2024, production leads had drafted Bailey for a completely different function within the organization: the lead dispatcher supervisor. That role was structured as an authoritative, stabilizing desk anchor meant to instruct the player on procedural compliance.
Director notes revealed during post-launch discussions pointed toward a critical turning point. The production team realized that casting Bailey as a rigid managerial presence wasted her talent for conversational volatility. The script supervisor suggested swapping her to Courtney (Invisigal), an operative whose fate rests entirely on the player’s branching audio choices.
The change altered the script's trajectory. Writers overhauled Invisigal's dialogue to match Bailey's cadence, replacing boilerplate surveillance jargon with snappy, reactive observations. The switch also opened the door to recruit a different voice for the supervisor post, clarifying the power dynamic between the player's terminal, the corporate brass, and the field operatives risking their lives on the pavement.
