Farm Basket first opened its doors on West Charleston Boulevard in 1976. During an era when Las Vegas expanded rapidly past the downtown core, the small drive-thru and dining room established an intensely loyal neighborhood following. The kitchen avoided the standard burger-heavy template of suburban fast food. Instead, it carved out a unique identity built on slow-roasted turkey sandwiches, breaded chicken tenders, gravy-topped fries, and scratch-made baked goods.
The crown jewel of that lineup was the famous orange roll. Baked daily with a sweet, citrus-infused glaze, the pastry became a cultural touchstone for valley natives. When supply chain headaches and recipe shifts led to the roll disappearing from the menu under prior management, local online forums and social platforms erupted in frustration. For many regulars, Farm Basket without orange rolls lost its soul.
By late 2024, the business faced structural aging. Operating an independent restaurant with decades-old equipment and high labor turnover created operational drag. When an investor group acquired the brand in January 2025, they signaled an immediate return to heritage recipes, announcing on local broadcasts that the orange rolls were back alongside plans to modernize service operations.
