Eisley’s first sustained national exposure came courtesy of ABC Family’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager, created by Brenda Hampton. Cast as Ashley Juergens, the sardonic, fiercely independent younger sister to Shailene Woodley’s Amy, Eisley subverted the squeaky-clean tone of traditional teen melodramas. Ashley’s deadpan delivery and cynical observations quickly made her a fan favorite across the show’s five-season run between 2008 and 2013.
The transition from serialized family television to major studio cinema came fast. In 2012, Eisley secured the co-starring role of Eve, the hybrid daughter of Selene, in Underworld: Awakening. Working alongside Kate Beckinsale, she underwent intense stunt training, appearing in heavy prosthetics and complex wirework sequences. The film grossed more than $160 million worldwide, demonstrating that Eisley could handle the physical demands of high-budget action franchises. Rather than chasing further comic-book adaptations or studio franchises, she chose a sharp detour into independent thrillers.
