The hospitality landscape changed drastically heading into the 2020s. Supply chain costs escalated, labor dynamics shifted across the country, and long-tenured independent restaurateurs faced difficult succession questions. After celebrating more than twenty years of continuous operations, Boukhriss stepped back from day-to-day operations at the carriage house, allowing the space to begin its next chapter.
The venue returned to its historic moniker, The Coach House, under new culinary custodians who recognized the building's emotional weight within the neighborhood. Rather than gutting the interior into a minimalist industrial box, the revitalized concept retained the exposed brickwork, the warm low lighting, and the traditional neighborhood-tavern ambiance.
This transition proved that historic spaces can evolve without erasing their heritage. While menu items now tilt toward modern seasonal craft fare, long-time patrons still walk into the space and point to the corner tables where they celebrated milestones decades earlier.
