In modern corporate culture, ex-spouses of prominent CEOs frequently establish public foundations, publish autobiographies, or leverage high-profile names for social media influence. Kathleen Susan Iger took the polar opposite route. She chose total civic privacy.
Her complete disengagement from celebrity culture underscores a deliberate personal philosophy. She avoided charity gala press lines, declined retrospective interviews during Iger's memoir press tours for The Ride of a Lifetime, and maintained unlisted domestic addresses. Even when Iger returned to lead Disney through turbulent restructuring, streaming realignment, and boardroom battles, Kathleen maintained that silence.
This discipline protected her daughters' personal boundaries as well. Both Katie and Amanda have built adult lives characterized by quiet philanthropic engagement, private careers, and personal discretion, untouched by executive politics.
