The strongest engine behind any celebrity dating rumor is almost always co-star interaction. During the promotional rollouts for *Avatar: The Last Airbender*, fans zeroed in on Kiawentiio’s easy camaraderie with her fellow cast members, particularly Gordon Cormier, who portrays Aang. Online edits quickly paired interview clips to suggest off-screen romance.
The reality is far more grounded. The core quartet of the series, Kiawentiio, Cormier, Ian Ousley (Sokka), and Dallas Liu (Zuko), spent months in Vancouver undergoing rigorous stunt training, dialect coaching, and extended filming schedules during critical formative years. Their relationship reflects a close sibling dynamic built inside a high-pressure production bubble. Cormier and Kiawentiio have repeatedly laughed off romantic pairings in group press discussions, emphasizing that their bond is familial rather than romantic.
