Rumors gained traction because of recent cinematic adaptations and comic book runs where female iterations of Loki behave as separate personalities. In Marvel Comics' 2008 J. Michael Straczynski run, Loki inhabited the body intended for Lady Sif following Ragnarok. Later, Disney's Marvel Cinematic Universe introduced Sylvie Laufeydottir, an individual variant who possessed her own distinct timeline, combat background, and signature enchantment powers.
Players tracking hero teasers assumed the hero shooter might follow a similar narrative path. The prospect of having two distinct tricksters on a single team generated early excitement among support mains. Competitive squads imagined stacking illusion abilities, chain-stealing ultimates, and dominating objective capture points with dual tricksters. Instead, the developers chose to preserve the operational limits of their Strategist roster, keeping the character firmly housed inside the existing Loki hero kit.
