Before she became one of Peloton's original London instructors, Leanne Hainsby built a high-energy dance career backing international pop acts, including Kylie Minogue and Steps. Joining Peloton in 2018, she quickly established herself as a favorite among members for her Broadway-heavy playlists and upbeat delivery. Her digital profile expanded rapidly as the connected fitness platform added millions of subscribers across the United Kingdom, North America, and Europe.
In early 2023, Hainsby shifted the conversation from cadence and resistance metrics to healthcare literacy. After discovering a lump in August 2022, doctors initially told her it was nothing to worry about. A second opinion revealed invasive triple-positive breast cancer. Throughout 12 rounds of chemotherapy, she quietly continued to teach live studio classes, only sharing the news publicly once she completed active treatment. Her openness spurred thousands of riders to schedule mammograms and self-examinations, turning her biography from an athletic resume into a reference point for early cancer detection advocacy.
