Operating under aliases like "Nature Boy" and "God Nature Boy," Bishop was an aspiring model, dancer, and adult entertainer before rebranding himself in the mid-2010s as an enlightened master. He preached an idiosyncratic blend of extreme raw veganism, Afrocentric spirituality, nudism, and rejection of "the matrix", his term for conventional society.
The docuseries uses Bishop’s own voluminous digital footprint against him. For years, Bishop filmed almost every waking hour on YouTube, Facebook Live, and Patreon.
