Everything you need to know about Louise Annette Talley Dixon Timeline: from Terrell, Texas to Foxx's Mansion, including essential background.

Estelle Talley ran an uncompromising household. She recognized Eric’s boundless creative energy and channeled it directly into the arts, forcing him to practice classical piano for hours every afternoon before he could play sports. Estelle told him plainly that his hands were meant for greatness, not factory labor. She made sure he sang in the choir at New Hope Baptist Church and maintained top grades at Terrell High School.

Even so, the absence of Louise lingered. In his 2021 memoir, Act Like You Got Some Sense, Foxx recalled waiting on the front porch for visits Louise had promised, only to watch the sun go down without her car turning into the driveway. Those missed appointments left an emotional mark. Foxx channeled the pain into comedy, athletics, and academic honors, becoming a star quarterback and a classically trained musician at United States International University in San Diego.

Louise eventually remarried, taking the surname Dixon alongside her new husband, George Dixon. She built an independent life, entirely separate from the rapid rise of Eric Marlon Bishop as he adopted the stage name Jamie Foxx in the gritty comedy clubs of Los Angeles.
