The sequel builds on the world introduced in Byron Howard and Rich Moore's 2016 original. Returning stars Ginnifer Goodwin (Officer Judy Hopps) and Jason Bateman (Nick Wilde) reprise their voice roles as the mismatched investigative duo tackling unfamiliar districts of their diverse animal world.
Directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, the story forces Judy and Nick to confront underground corruption that pulls in non-mammalian residents and previously unseen species. The production adds Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan voicing Gary, a hunted snake caught in the city's political intrigue, alongside comedian Fortune Feimster portraying Nibbles, an erratic beaver informant. The narrative stakes expand well beyond simple precinct detective work, challenging the foundational social truce that keeps Zootopia functioning.
