In June 2018, Judge Siraj Desai sentenced Henri van Breda to three life sentences for the murders of Martin, Teresa, and Rudi, along with fifteen years for the attempted murder of Marli. Henri began serving his sentence at the maximum-security Drakenstein Correctional Centre in the Western Cape. However, in 2022, prison authorities quietly moved him to a Gauteng correctional facility following violent altercations inside the prison. The Department of Correctional Services confirmed the transfer as an operational necessity to manage inmate safety and gang tensions.
While Henri sits in a Gauteng cell, Marli has maintained a complete, permanent break from him. Family members confirm that all communication was severed following his arrest. She does not visit him, does not participate in his prison correspondence, and has entirely written him out of her personal sphere.
