Long before PGA Tour victories, Presidents Cup appearances, and major championship pressure, Sam and Caroline shared childhood roots in Shreveport, Louisiana. Their families attended the same church, where the two met around age five. While they grew up knowing one another, their romantic relationship did not start until years later.
Burns headed to Baton Rouge to play collegiate golf for Louisiana State University, quickly establishing himself as one of the premier amateur players in the country. Caroline enrolled at Clemson University, where she was an avid track athlete. The distance did not derail their connection. They began dating during their college years, maintaining a strong bond across state lines as Burns transitioned into professional golf.
In April 2019, Burns proposed. The couple tied the knot in December 2019 in an intimate ceremony surrounded by family and close friends, establishing the foundation that now anchors his life on the professional circuit.
