Before agreeing to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Isaac had endured grueling franchise cycles. His experiences playing Poe Dameron in the Star Wars sequel trilogy and suffering through heavy prosthetic makeup as Apocalypse in Fox's X-Men: Apocalypse made him wary of long-term studio commitments. When Kevin Feige approached him about leading Moon Knight, Isaac insisted on retaining complete creative freedom.
By securing a single-project deal, Isaac placed the leverage squarely in his own corner. Recent industry updates from outlets like Gamereactor UK and Bam Smack Pow indicate that Isaac's selective posture explains the antihero's extended absence. Marvel Studios cannot simply insert Marc Spector into random crossovers without the actor's express approval. Isaac treats the character as a bespoke creative outlet. If the premise fails to offer a compelling psychological challenge, he simply moves on to independent cinema or stage work instead.
