Q1: Why did Troye Sivan dress in drag for the "She's the Best" music video?
A1: Sivan returned to his drag persona to celebrate queer nightlife, femininity, and sisterhood. While his 2023 drag performance in "One of Your Girls" explored loneliness and seeking heterosexual validation, "She’s the Best" uses the look to share joy and pay tribute to cultural icons like Nicole Kidman alongside trans and queer performers.
Q2: How did Nicole Kidman get involved in the project?
A2: Kidman and Sivan previously developed a close professional relationship when they co-starred in the 2018 film Boy Erased. Sivan approached Kidman directly for this cameo, which marks one of her first appearances in a contemporary pop music video.
Q3: Who else is featured in the "She's the Best" club scenes?
A3: The production specifically cast notable drag queens, transgender women, and figures from underground queer nightlife culture, ensuring the club scenes felt authentic rather than staged with standard commercial extras.
