Before becoming a staple of celebrity gossip columns, McCarron carved out an exceptional collegiate legacy. He quarterbacked Alabama to back-to-back national championships in the 2011 and 2012 seasons, finishing as the 2013 Heisman Trophy runner-up behind Jameis Winston. The Cincinnati Bengals selected him in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft, launching a professional career that tested the young couple’s endurance.
McCarron spent four seasons in Cincinnati, memorably starting a playoff game in January 2016 against the Pittsburgh Steelers after starter Andy Dalton broke his thumb. He subsequently signed contracts with the Oakland Raiders, Houston Texans, and Atlanta Falcons. When conventional NFL backup opportunities tightened, McCarron made headlines in 2023 by joining the St. Louis Battlehawks of the XFL.
